The Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation's 2023 Gala was a success, hosted at Chappapeela Sports Park. The event, led by Melissa Dufreche, supports the Hospice House, which has served over 1600 families at no cost. Next gala is on Sept. 28, 2024.
Dear Friends and family of the Richard Murphy Hospice Foundation:
We cannot believe that the 2023 RMHF Gala has come and gone. This year’s gala was such a huge success. Ryan Barker and his amazing staff at Chappapeela Sports Park were so hospitable and accommodating to our every need. They helped along with our amazing Beth Richard and her decorating committee transform the gym into a feeling of actually being in New York.
For the past sixteen years, the Richard Murphy Hospice House has served over 1600 terminally ill residents and their families at absolutely no charge. The House can do this through all the efforts of our supporters of the gala: this year’s Gala chairman Melissa Dufreche, Gala Board, volunteer workers, sponsorships, ticket sales, memorial donations, auction items, and prayers! The Gala would not be possible without our generous community. The loss of a loved one is so difficult, and our goal is to alleviate some of this burden, provide comfort, and a beautiful home to the residents and their families. No financial burden, 24-hour caregivers, peace, and comfort. Thank you to our community that has made the operations of the house possible. It is an honor and extremely heartfelt to care for those facing the end of life, and we appreciate the trust and confidence that families have given to the Richard Murphy Hospice House and our dedicated staff.
There are so many kindhearted people that assist us in our day-to-day operations. A special thanks to our regular volunteers, lawn care, professional services, Board of Trustees, Hospice House Staff, and many more. Thank you to all our supporters who deliver household products and meals to the Hospice House. They are greatly appreciated and needed by the grieving families.
Don’t forget to mark your calendar for next year’s gala on September 28, 2024, held at Chappapeela Sports Park. Thank you again to everyone for making this another successful gala while raising money for such a wonderful cause. And we all want to wish everyone a wonderful happy New Year.
